The
guidelines
Everything you need to set up a great Sunday — where work goes, how to protect it, pricing, timings, and the small kit that makes the day run smoothly.
Display
Where your work lives at Adda.
- Main display: three wooden retail shelves to the right of the billing counter hold art at a viewing angle. Pieces can also lean against the wall — a favourite nook when billing gets busy.
- Hang work on the left and right using a strong rope and clothespins. There's a spot right of the wash basin where rope can be strung.
- Trees and branches work beautifully for small pieces hung like buntings.
- Entry area: 2–3 easels, one or two near the entrance signalling an event. This can be a large, statement piece.
Protection & Mounting
Keep the work safe in a food-and-coffee space.
- It's generally safe — people rarely touch work with food hands — but covering pieces in plastic is recommended.
- Works on paper should be mounted if displayed vertically or standing.
Pricing
Clarity reduces stress for everyone.
- Have a price strategy and keep prices visible.
- A pricing sheet or labels on pieces and a handy GPay QR print make purchases effortless.
Promos
How the word goes out.
- The WhatsApp image poster is posted on the Broadcast group a few days before the event.
- On Saturday it's reposted as a reminder; on Friday it's sent to individual community groups.
- Invite your friends — and feel free to share beyond Malhar.
Timings
Adda's Sunday rhythm.
- Adda is open 7:00–10:30 AM and 4:00–7:30 PM.
- Set-up can start at 6:30 AM or earlier. It takes about 30 minutes if you've planned what goes where — visiting the location beforehand helps a lot.
- Artists stay around to interact, receive feedback, and sell better.
Things to bring
A handy kit.
- Strings / rope to hang pieces, and clothes pins to secure them.
- Double-sided or brown tape to fix the rope; easels and pin-up boards if needed.
- Artist write-ups, and newspaper to clean the shelves.
