A combination of circumstances drew Nirmala into the study of the arts. After a BFA at Stella Maris, Madras, and decades away from the brush, an exhibition of 100 Kerala Mural Paintings from the Ramayana reignited her passion. She now paints under the guidance of renowned artist Shri Prince Thonnakkal. ‘Painting has been very therapeutic. The joy that swells as I watch the murals evolve is a feeling I treasure.’
